Guadalajara is a great place to experience Mexican traditions,
while enjoying a safe, comfortable mexican experience. The city has a climate
that is as warm as the smiles of its friendly inhabitants.
Many Mexican features and traditions originated in Guadalajara, Mexico's second
largest city. These include Mariachi music, tequila, the Mexican rodeo, broad-brimmed
sombrero hats and the Mexican Hat Dance. These traditions can be seen everywhere
you choose to visit.
Part of Guadalajara's appeal is that it has many of the attractions of Mexico
City - a vibrant culture, great museums, exciting nightlife and good places
to eat, but few of the capital's problems. Guadalajara is bright, modern, well-organized
and unpolluted. Visitors can always find interesting things to do, especially
girl watch.
Emperor Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor and ruler of much of Europe in the 16th
century, gave Guadalajara its charter as "a most loyal and noble city."
Guadalajara celebrated its 450th birthday in 1992. Through the years, the
city has grown gracefully, and to this day, many of the most historic and beautiful
of Guadalajara's buildings stand as reminders of the influence Guadalajara has
had and continues to have in Mexico. Some attractions include the huge cathedral and the surrounding plazas, the
Instituto Cultural de Cabañas, the Plaza de los Mariachis, where bands play
day and night, a first rate zoo, premier soccer matches and much more. Remember
the most important things: - the great year round weather - and the lovely,
classy ladies!
